The Thoracic Surgery Department at the CHUM has the only integrated endoscopic tracheobronchial and oesophageal center (C.E.T.O.C.) in Quebec. A worldwide pioneer in interventional thoracic endoscopy, the C.E.T.O.C. was created in 2010 thanks to support of the Thoracic Surgery Research Foundation of Montreal.
Directed by Dr. Moishe Liberman, the comprehensive center uses minimally invasive techniques to diagnose, stage and treat diseases of the trachea, bronchi, lungs, oesophagus, and mediastinum. These techniques are performed through the patients’ airway and oesophagus, obviating the need for surgery or incision.
