The Foundation is delighted to announce the creation of its third research chair at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal. The launch of the Régis Morissette Family-Fransyl Chair in Thoracic Surgery and Esophageal Diseases took place on June 14, 2023, in the Hall of Honor of the Roger-Gaudry Pavilion, in the presence of representatives from the University of Montreal, the Foundation, and the Morrissette family.
Following the event at the University, a reception was held at the Sheraton Laval to highlight the generous financial contribution of the Morrissette family and the Fransyl Group. Thanks to the creation of this chair, new methods will be developed to better evaluate and effectively treat diseases of the esophagus.
During the evening, Dr. Pasquale Ferraro, President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, presented a plaque of recognition to Dr. André Duranceau for his remarkable vision, unrivalled leadership, and perseverance, which have led to the creation of three research chairs in thoracic surgery at the University of Montreal.
